Registering as a Commonwealth Supplier and Obtaining a Vendor Number
Before certifying as a small business with DGS, small businesses must register as a Commonwealth Supplier with the Department of State and obtain a vendor number.
To obtain your 6-digit vendor number and complete the registration process, have the following available before you begin:
- Employer Identification Number (EIN) or Social Security Number (SSN) for your business
- Legal name of company (must match IRS info)
- Business Type (Corporation, LLC, etc)
- Physical address with phone number and zipt+4 code
- Contact Person
- County of business location
Once you have collected the needed information, visit the PA Supplier Portal. Choose Supplier Registration. View the Vendor Registration Guide for additional instructions.
PA Vendor Registration requires the vendor to enter and update your Company Data and Administrative Information including the default remit-to address for receipt of payments as applicable. It results in the assignment of a unique 6-digit SAP number.
